Home > Giclees |
A giclee (zhee-CLAY) is a term used to describe a high-resolution and advanced printmaking technological process done on a large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital scans or 4” x 5” transparencies of existing artwork and from the original paintings utilizing archival quality inks and watercolor paper. The giclee printing process delivers superior color accuracy over other means of reproduction.
Giclee (zhee—clay) is a French word which is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb “gicler” meaning “to squirt.”
